The Network’s 2023 Highlights
Events, Achievements, Donations and more…
I recently joined the organization, and it feels like I’ve been here for quite some time. The past four months have been filled with activities, event organization, and opportunities to connect with our community members. As we are wrapping up an excellent 2023, I believed it would be wonderful to look into our year-round activities, achievements, and what lies ahead.
Whether you’re new to Luxembourg or not, we want you to know that we are one of the oldest English-speaking and multicultural organizations in the country. Our goal is to support and promote the development of professional women in Luxembourg. Come to one of our events, and you’ll see why joining us is worthwhile.
We take pride in our relationship with our members, and we owe this successful year to them. Our focus has always been on listening to our community, understanding their interests, and responding to their needs. That’s why all our 2023 events revolved around what our members wanted.
In 2023, we organized 11 local events, taking a break in August to recharge. Here’s a glimpse of what we covered:
- Wellness topics, including the importance of posture, breathing, and timing.
- Exploring different working styles and behaviors, leveraging inner strengths, and becoming more self-aware.
- Former Luxembourg Minister for Family Affairs, Corrine Cahen, explored into the expat experience in March 2023, alongside other local specialists.
- Building a business and navigating entrepreneurship challenges.
- Discussing the impact of climate change on women, especially those with disabilities or from the LGBTIQ+ communities.
- Navigating your career, whether starting, returning after a break, or making a transition.
- Wine as a double pleasure when considering charitable causes. Fundraising for our charities took a different note during a wine-tasting event.
- Reshaping the leadership landscape, understanding obstacles women face, and removing existing barriers.
What makes us stand out is our commitment as a non-profit organization to extend goodness in our community by supporting local charities. At our recent Christmas Dinner event, we proudly donated €4000 to four charities, and we invite you to check out their wonderful mission and impact:
We value our community members and their interests, supporting them in being visible, making connections, and advancing their ideas. That’s why we also offer members the chance to pitch their business or ideas in a two-minute speech.
This is just a glimpse of what we’ve been doing at The Network in 2023.
I want to express gratitude to our team of volunteers and all our event speakers, who are important local figures who generously share their knowledge and support us in the long term.
Looking ahead to 2024, we have more in store for you. We’ll explore new topics such as women demystifying AI impact and challenges faced by neurodivergent women, while reinforcing recurring topics of interest in our community.
