Meet One of Our Members: Marisa Hyman

Can you tell us about your professional journey and what inspired you to pursue this path?

A burnout in my 1st 16yr career as Auditor, then becoming an expat parent led me to explore other talents (2013 on). Training as “Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Practitioner” opened my eyes to many doors, especially the impact & interrelatedness of Emotional & Relational Systems on the central nervous system of the family and the expression of intergenerational trauma.

This led to my “awakening” of my own early & later life emotional gaps/hidden wounds/neglect (mother wound, father wound, being gestated-born etc wounds, giving birth wounds) which led to a long journey starting with mainstream therapy, then expanding my soul-searching plus integration with countless integrative modalities that got to the root of the trauma & neglect living in my body-mind story/limbic imprints.

The deepest results for myself and later my clients came from the “Birth into Being Method” as well as the “Head Trash Clearance Method” which also opened me to reCode my body’s sensual aliveness, re-awaken my innate dancer, sort out my inner existential crisis by reCoding & aligning body-mind-soul-spirit, creatively.

Now I work as Sustainable RelationSHIPs & LeaderSHIP Specialist plus Doula (preconception onwards), helping individuals, couples, organisations & teams boost Innovative Performance with “Prosilience” for flourishing, fulfilling & fun cruise SHIP journeys by being “conscious captains”:

  • in charge of who’s really leading inside us in our relationSHIP to others AND ourselves and
  • to better relate when we lead & inspire others AND ourselves

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a professional woman in Luxembourg?

I’m aware that the tax in Luxembourg for independent entrepreneurs are very high especially compared to neighbouring countries, as is the living cost, shown by the high level of bankruptcy.

Secondly, I was pushed out of my comfort zone after I reCoded myself which led to massive changes in my family when my 25yr husband did the same and uncovered suppressed homosexuality (during covid!) which led my family & business on what felt like a Titanic SHIP. I had to reinvent myself and my business yet again as it was built around my family, I enjoyed working with individuals but now looking back the universe pushed me to “play bigger”, express my greater purpose of rehumanising not just inner culture with individuals but also organisational culture which has a massive impact on our sustainability as a species. The future of our society has always been the motivator in all I do and through the Global Inner Development Goals as compass for our SHIPs, I’m now grateful to be part of the solution.

What motivated you to become a member of The Network, and how has it benefited you?

It was actually this time of 2nd reinvention in my biz from inner culture reCoding with individuals to a bigger context of outer culture reCoding of SHIPs within organisations that inspired me to join.

The openness and welcoming feeling from The Network was a healing balm on my soul, a great support in my journey which I am very grateful for.

Are there any key lessons you’ve learned in your career that you wish you had known earlier?

Have patience, take it step by step and don’t try to be perfect as in childhood.

Do your inner work and everything else will be easier. Sustainable change starts from the inside out.

See setbacks as learnings for new innovation and trust the creative process.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with other professional women?

Use your energy wisely! I have also experienced a 2nd burnout (before I reCoded that pattern!) when alongside my business I also founded & ran a volunteer-run NGO in Luxembourg (Luxmama) for 7 years with goals of green parenting, mental health support and Rehumanising maternity care for a sustainable birth culture (2013-2020).

Do your inner work and everything else will be easier, you’ll have more clarity plus energy to grow your professional life from a place of purpose not just pain.
