Interview with our new Membership Director: Veronika Karancsy
1. Can you briefly introduce yourself and share a bit about your professional background?
I’m half Italian half Hungarian and this mix characterize me in all if I’m doing… a mix of different approaches what I adapt to the situation I’m in. I have over 15 years of experience in FMCG trough different roles but always something related to develop or build up businesses.
Throughout my career, I’ve led international projects across business development, operations, and strategy—building new business models, launching products, and structuring B2B ecosystems.
What really defines me is my drive to build, connect, and create impact—whether in business, communities, or new ventures.
2. What inspired you to join The Network and take on the role of Membership Director?
What inspired me to join THE NETWORK is its potential to become a truly influential platform in Luxembourg—not just for networking, but for meaningful connections and professional growth. I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to shape something with strong foundations into a high-impact, well-positioned community.
Taking on the role of Membership Director felt like a natural fit for me. Throughout my career, I’ve worked at the intersection of strategy, business development, and stakeholder engagement, so building and scaling a strong member base aligns well with my experience and strengths and connect this to people and “experiences” to feel part of something means and motivates the persons.
What motivates me most is the challenge of creating real value—designing a membership experience that people genuinely want to be part of, and turning that into a sustainable growth engine that elevates both the members and the Network itself.
3. What are the responsibilities of the role of Membership Director and what are your main objectives for this year?
As a Membership Director, my core responsibility is to build and grow a high-value, engaged community—not just increase numbers. This means defining a clear membership value proposition and ensuring strong retention through meaningful experiences and networking opportunities tighter with our event director.
I also focus on structuring membership models, including corporate partnerships with organizations and using data to continuously improve engagement and growth.
For this year, my main objectives would be to clarify and strengthen the membership offering, achieve sustainable growth with a focus on quality members, launch a structured corporate membership program, and significantly improve retention by enhancing the overall member experience with also new membership models. Ultimately, my goal is to position the association as a premium, trusted professional community.
4. How do you see membership contributing to the growth and impact of The Network in Luxembourg?
I see membership as the core engine of both growth and impact for THE NETWORK in Luxembourg. It’s not just about numbers—it’s about building a curated, high-quality community that creates value through connections, knowledge sharing, and opportunities.
A strong membership base drives three key things: first, credibility—because the right members attract other high-caliber professionals and partners; second, sustainability—through recurring revenue and structured corporate engagement; and third, impact—by enabling meaningful collaborations, business opportunities, and thought leadership within the Luxembourg ecosystem.
Ultimately, when membership is well-structured and experience-driven, it creates a flywheel effect: strong members attract more strong members, elevating both the brand and the overall influence of the Network.
5. What qualities do you look for in potential collaborators?
When I look for potential collaborators, I focus on a few key qualities. First, alignment—people or organizations that genuinely share the values and mission of the Network, especially around supporting and empowering women.
Second, a collaborative mindset—partners who are open, proactive, and willing to create value together rather than just promote themselves.
Third, credibility and quality—whether it’s expertise, experience, or reputation, they should bring something meaningful to the community.
And finally, reliability—people who follow through on commitments and are consistent over time.
Ultimately, I look for collaborators who see this as a long-term partnership and are motivated to contribute to a strong, supportive ecosystem.
6. The Network’s mission is to help women thrive professionally and support one another. How do you see membership playing a role in advancing this mission?
I see membership as the foundation for advancing this mission. It’s through a well-curated and engaged member base that women can truly support each other, share experiences, and create opportunities for growth.
Membership enables three key things: first, access—to relevant networks, knowledge, and role models; second, connection—building trust-based relationships that go beyond transactional networking; and third, empowerment—creating an environment where women actively support, mentor, and open doors for one another.
If structured well, membership becomes more than a list of people—it becomes a strong, supportive ecosystem where women not only grow individually but also elevate each other, which is exactly what drives the mission forward.
7. Finally, what message would you like to share with the members of The Network as you begin this new chapter?
As I begin this “additional “chapter, my message to the members is simple: this Network is yours. Its strength, impact, and future depend on the energy, openness, and support we create together.
My commitment is to build a space where every member feels valued, connected, and empowered to grow—professionally and personally. I want this to be a community where opportunities are shared, voices are heard, and collaboration comes naturally.
I also encourage everyone to be active contributors, not just participants—because the more we invest in each other, the stronger and more impactful this Network will become.
