Meet One of Our Members: Dursun Halimova

  1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your professional background?

I began my career with a desire to help people reach their full potential. At first, I thought working in the public sector was the best way to create impact through policies. Over time, I realized that real change happens at the individual level and that I could foster it through small group and one-on-one interactions.
I’ve worked across teaching, research, sales, and entrepreneurship while living in the US, Asia, and Europe. The roles have changed, but my mission has remained the same.
Currently, I work as a Sales Manager at Stellar, a startup enabling global connectivity – from connected cars and internet on trains to smart cities and electric vehicles. I’m also a certified business coach helping entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses with clarity and confidence.

2. What brought you to Luxembourg, and how did you hear about The Network?

I moved to Luxembourg almost two years ago when my partner received a job offer. It was one of the three countries we shortlisted as our next home. Before moving, I researched local organizations and events to get involved in — and that’s when I discovered The Network. I knew I wanted to join even before arriving in Luxembourg.

3. What motivated you to become a member of The Network?

After speaking with a few women who had been speakers at The Network events, I was convinced it was the right community for me. I also looked through past and upcoming events to get a sense of the topics and atmosphere — and I found them both inspiring and relevant. I joined because I wanted to learn, exchange ideas, and connect with like-minded professionals.

4. How has being part of The Network impacted your professional or personal journey?

The Network has given me the community I was looking for as a newcomer to Luxembourg. I didn’t know anyone when I first arrived, but the team and members were incredibly warm and welcoming – they made me feel I belonged. Through The Network, I’ve made friends, found collaborators, and even met my first client in Luxembourg. I’ve gained so much, both personally and professionally, from being part of this community.

5. Have you participated in any of our events? What stood out for you?
I’ve attended many Network events covering topics from neurodiversity and burnout to entrepreneurship, financial independence, and parenthood. What stands out to me is the professionalism and dedication of the organizing team – volunteers who put in so much effort to curate events that resonate with women from all backgrounds and career stages.

At every event, members go out of their way to greet and include newcomers, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. I always leave feeling inspired and connected.

6. What advice would you give to a new member just joining The Network?
Be open-minded and curious. Attend events regularly, start conversations, and don’t hesitate to introduce yourself – everyone is there to connect, learn, and grow together. I also recommend volunteering. It gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how events come together and helps you form even deeper bonds with other members.

7. What are you currently working on, and how can other members support or connect with you?

I currently help entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses through one-on-one and group coaching. I believe it’s a pity to have dreams and never pursue them – that’s potential left unrealized. If any members are looking for support to achieve their business goals or simply want to exchange ideas and experiences, I’d love to connect. You can reach me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or via my website (www.dursunhalimova.com).

 8. Is there anything else you’d like to share with the community?

I’m truly grateful to be part of such a caring, supportive, and inspiring community. The Network has made my life in Luxembourg brighter, warmer, and more meaningful – thanks to the incredible team, members, and new joiners who make it all possible.
